WE PROVIDE A FRAMEWORK FOR ART and Health Innovation that BRINGS TOGETHER CORPORATIONS, COMMUNITIES AND ARTIST INNOVATORS TO BUILD AND SUSTAIN A CREATIVE, HEALTHY, AND PRODUCTIVE WORKFORCE.
Innovation is not solely a technological or design issue.
It is also a human behavior issue.
IDEAS xLab provides a framework that helps both private and public health sector organizations re-frame challenges and discover new opportunities by leveraging the dynamic thinking capacity of artists.
"IDEAS xLab's approach to the "work" of art is to focus not on the objects that you make, but on the human beings. Ours is a human resources strategy that looks at the artist. What we are specifically interested in is how to take a very unique, integrated, macroscopic skill set of an artist and create new utility, new roles, and new values seen by the business community, by the people in education, and by the people in healthcare. It's about looking at these people, these industries, and these areas that have no real formal relationship to the art world, but could benefit from a relationship with artists as part of their teams."
Successful health sector businesses must think creatively about the future. But, few business leaders tell us that their organization is good at creativity. Business is mostly a linear process whereas creativity is not. It is a wildcard!
"Crowd-sourced genomic data, 3D printed hearts, robotic surgeries, dramatic shifts in medical education and population health–the future of how we think about, define and create health is exponentially changing–which is why we are pioneering new roles for artists in this ever-changing industry and societal landscape."

WHAT IF you used art as a tool for promoting better health?
“I don’t think art in and of itself can do anything,” says Theo Edmonds, artist and co-founder of IDEAS xLab, an artist innovation company in Louisville, Ky. “But I think artists can change the world.”
More specifically, the former healthcare executive says artists can impact health in surprising ways. He’s found believers across Louisville, from the mayor’s office and local foundations to the area’s healthcare institutions and the University of Louisville. Together, they’re out to do transformative things across the city.
