As an IDEAS xLab Champion of Hope - you can help us transform lives through art!

We believe in the power of community creativity and culture - and by coming together through a co-creation process, artists and communities can work together to create a more healthy, just, and hope-filled society! Building on years of work with Louisville’s Smoketown neighborhood and in Kentucky, we recently launched “Our Emotional Wellbeing” – an initiative with young people 12-20, that seeks to measurably impact hope and belonging through a series of arts-based activities and development of a toolkit.

Our team has seen how participating in artist-led initiatives can positively impact young people, like the Justice League at Meyzeek Middle School, where students showed a change from 6.3 to 9 on a 10-point scale in their ability to advocate for themselves and for others after the first year.

To create this type of impact, we select artists with the lived-experience of our partner communities, and train them to think about impacting health, cultivating hope, justice, sustainability, and celebrating culture and identity. We provide coaching and technical assistance to the artists and our partners as we create strategies and implement initiatives together. Click here to learn more about some of our current and past work!
